Jason deCaires Taylor grew up in Southeast Asia and knows first hand the vital nature of the world’s reef system. Human beings are doing their best to wipe them out with pollution of the land, air and sea, but deCaires Taylor is contributing to the artificial reef systems with his stunning underwater sculptures of human beings. He has created underwater exhibitions off the coasts of Grenada and Mexico that act as artificial reefs, made from materials that attract sea life and promote coral growth. His aim is to take pressure off the existing coral reefs to help them regenerate, and also to draw attention to the vast life the oceans support. Check out some pictures of his work below…
