How odd that in our quest to understand our reason for being we came up with the concept of posthumanism and began to strive for a life compiled from inanimate objects. Like life itself is the problem, and if we could get to a place where it doesn’t hold so much power over our existence we could finally understand why we live. That’s what the new single from EBM/industrial project Total Chroma has me musing over as I’m taking in its delicately harsh sounds. The solo project of Robert Katerwol (Wire Spine, Verboden Fest, Weird Candle), with two collaborative tracks with Sasha K, Total Chroma makes me want to sneak out in the middle of the night to wander amongst the party monsters. “Mutation” is off his new album Body Relics that comes out February 3rd on Negative Gain, and you can pre-order it here. The album was recorded in the leaking basement of an auto repair shop, which is exactly where I’m daydreaming about the Total Chroma dance party I’m at in my head. Right now you can dance in your own head as you listen to our premiere of “Mutation”…
