The Breathing Light is an amazing band from Chicago that creates a very special blend of Post Punk and Punk with a healthy dose of soul!!! Their 2022 release Love Buss Down out now on Don’t Panic Records & Distro went under the radar over here, but now I’m here to tell y’all this record is FIRE!!! Songs like “Falling Dove” manifest a tornado of angst and bliss that has me transfixed. What I respect about them is that they weave their politics into their tunes seamlessly. If today seemed dark, when I blast The Breathing Light I can see the light in the world! Today I want to turn y’all on to one of my favorite songs by them called “Lil Hoodrat” — plus they made a killer video for the song! I want The Breathing Light not only do I see them but I feel them!
