Sometimes I let my mind go to weird and wild places. I think about the limitations of the human experience — we can only see a tiny fraction of the light spectrum, and we can only hear a tiny fraction of the sound spectrum, but we arrogantly believe we know all there is to know about Earth and the universe. I think about how we’ve philosophized our existence for millennia without ever truly coming to a universal understanding of what it is we’re supposed to be doing here. I think about who may be pulling the strings of our existence, watching us struggle to expand beyond our flesh and brain, love and murder, scream into the void and collapse in each other’s arms, dance and create and sing our reasons for being.
Looking at the digital art of Frenetik Void, I feel like I’m looking into the faces of the space races who are playing the RPG game of humanity, enjoying a Second Life landscape of unsuspecting avatars who think we’re living the one and only human life at the center of the universe. He’s the founder of CryptoArg, the largest community of crypto artists in Latin America, and his digital artwork is emotive, transcendent, and seductive in a really creepy way. If these creatures are our overlords, I understand why they’re passive bystanders to the tragedy that is the human story. Check out some of his recent works below…
