The ‘80s Nightclub Flyers that Shaped Underground New York

It’s time for y’all to check out these vintage NYC Nightclub flyers/invites from the 80’s. What y’all are about to see is straight art and some insanely epic graphic design work. These pieces of paper are actually time machines back to when these was no internet. When I look at these invites, I can’t help but think about how historic some of these nights were! I’m talking about events that had the likes of Futura 2000, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Grace Jones, Fab 5 Freddy, Blondie, Lydia Lunch, Sonic Youth, and many more. The impact these humans had on our culture is still being felt to this very day. I also think about how special NYC was back then, before it became an over-priced Disney resort for hipsters. Back in the day, we all unified under the weirdo flag, it didn’t matter if you were Black, White, Skater, B-boy, Gay, Straight, Artist, Model, or Other — we all came together to create our scene and community.
