Late last year, we had the honor of streaming a song from Sondra Sun-Odeon’s album Desyre, and while I was exploring this magical record, I came across the video for her title track, starring professional dominatrix Dia Dynasty. It’s a stunning video – I’ve linked it below so you can watch it. But I was immediately captivated by this powerful woman and I wanted to explore her work more. She’s one of the co-founders of La Maison du Rouge, a BDSM community resource where she and Mistress Lucy Sweetkill promote discussion, education and exploring the intersectional nature of alternative sexualities. I started watching their Monday interview series, which they stream live on Periscope and IG live, and they’re an awesome way to understand other people’s perspectives on kink. Of course, they’re located in NYC so I can’t attend any of their amazing workshops, but maybe you can? They’ve got a great website with so many resources on it for anyone interested in BDSM and femdom, so make sure to check that out here and well as click around on the other links I posted. You should also check out this great article where they both talk about how Asian stereotypes/fetishism has played a role in their experience of professional domination. Until I can make it out to NYC for a workshop, I’ll be a faithful viewer of their Monday interviews and soak up the valuable knowledge these awesome women are sharing!
