More than any other American city, San Francisco was the mecca for the anarcho punk scene during the early and mid 80’s. When I was 14/15, I made my move up to SF from Los Angeles, and when I look back on it, this move changed the way I looked at the world and my part in it. The first thing that impressed me about the scene up there was the sense of community that all the SF punks shared. It went way beyond music – it seemed like the punks were family. Crucifix was the glue that brought all of the other bands together. When I first heard Crucifix, they blew my mind – it felt like these humans lived everything they sung about 100%. It’s been 35 years since CRUCIFIX screamed “Peace or Annihilation” – is the world a better place? These words are not hollow the struggle really does continue!!! The powers that be are trying to Dehumanize us against state violence and state control!
