With all our talking heads working overtime to distract us, to tell us that violence is justice and hatred is politics; with money continuing to flow from the same hands into the same pockets; we need to disconnect in order to truly listen to ourselves. To our inner voice that’s known since we were children what’s good and what’s evil. Before our adults began to emboss the phrase “it’s complicated” into our developing brains, without explaining that what makes it complicated is avarice and power. And they told us this so that we could take our place in the system, to exploit or be exploited, to own or be owned. That’s why I’m so proud to share music that subverts and challenges what we’ve been told is normal. That’s why I’m excited that Pain Ritual is serving us up a massive helping of the brutality of our system. To celebrate their recent signing to DEADBOY RECORDS and the release of their Unhoused & Unloved EP/Cassette on February 14th, we’re excited to premiere their new video for their single “Breonna”! Pre-orders for Unhoused & Unloved will be live on Thursday, January 21st at www.deadboyrecords.com. Powerviolence and hardcore are the perfect vehicles to hold up a mirror to the truth and see it’s hideous reflection. If we refuse to see it, we won’t change it, and that’s what drives our overlords to “complicate” it. Pain Ritual has them by the throat so that they can feel the full pain of the death and destruction they cause. Bring on the goddesses of death and destruction because normal is crumbling before them.

I was there when bullets took you in your sleep
Staring at the face of injustice
Reborn as a new militia
We were there when they took your last breath
Graffiti your name in the streets
No justice no peace fuck the police
And a rainbow shone through you
Like a sword to cast us out
Say her name
Say her name
Say his name
Say their names
Four hands and four heads
Your skin dances like smoke through carnage
One hundred and eight limbs
A death melody surrounds you like an aura
No justice no peace
You were there with satisfaction on your lips
No justice no peace
With bodies and revenge swinging from your hips
Destruction reborn in you
Bite your tongue dance on bodies
Rebirth Destruction more beautiful in you
