From quiffs that rival Danny Zuko’s to eyeliner that would champion the late David Bowie, in true Spiders style these pictures capture the eclectic mix of people and their retrospective fashions of the era.
Hull born Andy Roe is the man behind the eclectic album, who recently developed the pictures from the original negatives he took during the era.
Andy, 51, a creative art worker said: “I’m amazed because four days ago the negatives were in my cupboard – they hadn’t seen the light of day for 20 or 30 years.”
The album has captures 92 pictures from 1984 through to 1990 and it has now been shared nearly 500 times. Andy had been going to the club since 1982 when in 1984 he decided he wanted to capture the clubs authenticity on camera for future generations.
“There’s some really stunning characters, they’re very pantomime characters and I just thought it would be nice if I shared these so they’re not just stuck in a cupboard forever.
Renowned for playing a mix of punk, rock, Motown, indie and metal the nightclub has become one of Hull’s most famous places on the alternative music scene.
