While working on ‘Chrysalis’ I really felt like I was ‘coming home’ in terms of finding my signature sound, which had never truly clicked before. With a new sonic identity forged, I had the urge to explore things deeper and take them to greater extremes than I could in regular songs with words, verses and choruses. Through this deeper experimentation, the therapeutic properties of the music felt infinitely increased. Over the course of about 6 months, I’d find great solace from a very tumultuous life in the crafting of the tracks that would go on to form ‘Ecdysis.’
