Mychael Hennig creates stunning 3D art that strays from the usual electric futuristic influences. Instead, his work is elemental and earthy — his figures wear masks of water, light, flesh, and bone. They live in untouched forests and commune with plants and animals. I’m not glimpsing some distant, AI-ruled future; I’m seeing into another dimension where humans learned to live with the natural world. These are people who have wisdom and skills that have been long lost to today’s “civilization.” Below, check out a collection of his 3D pieces.
As far as influence goes, I’d say my work is heavily influenced by psychedelia, music, and my general temperament. In real life I am a quiet, reflective, and private person. I keep to myself and spend any free time I have walking in the woods, and reading books. Some of my favorite musical influences are Swans, Author & Punisher, Tool, Opeth, HU-MID, Lustmord, and Massive Attack.
