Up here in Vancouver, we’re looking forward to our first forays back into live music in September. The punk telephone game has started and I have no doubt it’s going to be a massive banger where we’re going to get to see so many people we’ve missed for the past year and counting. We were talking about it yesterday, anticipating what it’s going to be like seeing so many people that were just going through the motions of being human until this pandemic forced us into the dark corners of our own minds. It’s that facing of fears and anxieties and self-doubt that breaks us down and rebuilds us into someone better. I’ve changed. Sean’s changed. Everyone else has changed, too. So as I’m listening to the pulsating beats and captivating synths of Kris Baha’s new single “Into The Dark,” I’m thinking about how we all descended into the shadows of our own existence. I’m hoping for a scene transformed. I’m hoping to be surrounded by people who have embraced their own growth and are ready to share it with the world. And songs like this make that hope feel real.
