My eyes are bleeding and my brain is numb…what is causing me to feel this way? It’s Karl Persson‘s artwork, images that can inspire a nightmare after just one glance. But there is something beautiful in the way he is able to mould morbid pictures into something more steeped in emotion once you get past the shock of your first sight. There is a haziness to his work, as if you are viewing the gruesome scenes through a fog or vapor, softening the blow of what is unfolding before you. Karl is able to speak about the ills in our society through art that reflects his own twisted point of view. His use of color is good juxtaposition against some of the subject matter. Art should make you think, and Karl’s work does that and way fucking more. Many of his pieces almost have an underground record cover quality about them, and I can hear the sound of rage as I look at many of his paintings! Check out a gallery of Persson’s work below…
