Sometimes music takes you back to memories from your past. Case in point, the new song “Dead Weight” by In Covert takes me back to the drugged-out sleazy streets of Hollywood during the late 80s/early 90s. Imagine if The Jones, Alice in Chains, GODFLESH, and Skinny Puppy all decided to form a band — the outcome just might sound like this insanely sick band! As I listen to their music, I can smell the underbelly of the City of Angels. If they existed in the 90s, I could totally hear “Dead Weight” booming out of the sound system at the LA underground club Powertools! Real Talk, I love how In Covert is able to flip the script and take the listener into their dark universe where the past/future does not exist, only the present! Join us as we celebrate the release of their new visual for “Dead Weight” below. I want to give a massive shout-out to Dune Altar for always pushing our culture forward and for releasing this outstanding new band!
