Last month, we shared the first single from VIDRIO ECHO, and today we’re lucky to be sharing the second! “Obsidian” is directed by Jorge Santacruz, and it’s a powerful desert ritual set to the band’s unique gothic rock post-punk sound. I can feel the piercing grief in Mel’s vocals that cut like daggers through the wall of sound built with steady, heavy percussion and riffs that soar from clear and crisp to thick and fuzzy. The more I hear from this band, the more I like them. Today we’re stoked to be sharing their new video for “Obsidian” — you can stream it here. Stay tuned for more from VIDRIO ECHO here, and immerse yourself in their gorgeous video for “Obsidian” here:
As I lay my sorrows upon the ground
The obsidian, the grief in my heart
Will it harm?
Will it grasp what’s my cause
will it heal?
My Black cold breaking heart
will it heal?
My Black cold breaking heart
Lost beyond recognition
Where it all begins
Can I remember?
From the beginning
I will rise again
From the ashes
Throughout my afflictions
I’ve controlled the pain
Wisdom from suffering
As I lay my sorrows upon the ground
The obsidian, the grief in my heart
Will it harm?
Will it grasp what’s my cause
will it heal?
My Black cold breaking heart
will it heal?
My Black cold breaking heart
Slowly I break in two
The deepest darkest grave
From the abyss to
My absolute fate
Lost beyond recognition
Where it all begin
Can I remember?
From the beginning
I will rise again
From the ashes
Throughout my afflictions
I’ve controlled the pain
Wisdom from suffering
