NSFW: Hot Kink… Women in Kinky Boots from the 1920-1960s

There’s a store in the DTES of Vancouver called Model Express which is the mecca of kinky boots and shoes in Vancouver. I used to enjoy perusing their selection of thigh-high lace up boots, only a few times attempting to wear and actually walk around in them. It’s a skill to make that shit look natural. But I had no idea that the history of the kinky boot went so far back, that my great-grandparent’s generation was photographing knee-high leather boots on sexy women as early as the 1920s. The boot itself may not have been an established fetish yet, but with hindsight you can see its rise very clearly. It became an established part of the dominatrix costume after the practice began to find its way on to magazine pages, and these boots have only gotten higher as the decades wore on. Check out a glimpse of the history of the kinky boot in the gallery below!

Meghan MacRae grew up in Vancouver, Canada, but spent many years living in the remote woods. Living in the shadow of grizzly bears, cougars and the other predators of the wilderness taught her about the dark side of nature, and taught her to accept her place in nature's order as their prey. She is co-founder of CVLT Nation.
