Hell is Real is how I feel about this fucked up world right now, but it’s also the name of a very gnarly new band that deserves mad shine! Their new album Scared of the World is a Hardcore-infused Metal record that is a fucking sonic bulldozer that will destroy everything good around you!. Imagine if Discharge did acid with Venom, and while tripping balls they shapeshifted into Hellhammer before becoming APMD earworms! The above scenario is only the tip of this audio hate iceberg because this band’s music is also full of chaotic melodic storms of unhinged glory! What jumps out at me about Hell is Real’s tunes is that they are filled with the lived experiences of the humans that make up this gnarly AF band! Musically, they are able to harness pure anger with the passion of football hooligans from Man U. Their songs are sharp weapons aimed at the throats of the corrupt leaders that don’t care how they harm the people. When you hear “One Way Out” or “Burnt by the Son,” you will realize that Hell is Real is really on point.
