So what happens when two of the heaviest bands on the planet decided to do a split together? The outcome is this next level record featuring HELL & PRIMITIVE MAN that is coming out on February 22nd, 2019 via Translation Loss. Today we have been given the monolithic honor of sharing with you the new HELL track “Nuumen” below. Words from MSW:
At the time I was in the mood to write more in the style of the Hell I album. Stomping, deep, low-fi. The lyrics are basically about the everyday struggle of crippling anxiety and depression but not fearing it. Embrace it and use it to your advantage until it subsides, if at all. “Do not fear what you suffer. Do not fear the compression in your chest”. But before that message, it backs up to the cause of the anxiety. The lyrics are aimed toward being surrounded by greed and the overlords that control this fucked up place we exist in as if they were born in Hell. Those lyrics are toward the beginning and are “All of our kings of earth, whom live amongst us will conjure their beasts from the lost abyss. And I saw the sea of glass. Mixed with fire. It is fueled by hatred. Broken beyond repair. Here we will fall, fall amongst thieves.”
I hit up Ethan last year while I was riffing around in the basement to ask if PM would be interested in doing a split with Hell. They agreed and we both started writing/finishing the tracks. Hell and PM have played multiple shows/fests together and we’ve always been fans of each others tunes. Sometimes all you have to do is ask. I am excited for this release to finally come out and very happy to be on wax with those dudes.
