“Mankind is poised midway between the gods and the beasts.” This quote from Egyptian philosopher Plotinus comes to my mind when I look at the work of Italian tattooist Ruco. He free hands the most beautiful and wild blackwork tattoos, imagery that looks straight out of a medieval manuscript. Beasts, demons and gods rendered in solid black ink screaming off of a skin canvas. Based out of Hard Work Tattoo in Rome, Ruco’s tattoos would be recognizable anywhere in the world they travel.
