Dance to the Darkly Shimmering New Wave of GIRLFRIENDS AND BOYFRIENDS “Colour Shining Bright”

Maybe I’m just an 80s kid, but I think if there’s one thing that could bring us together in these tense times it’s some sick new wave from Girlfriends and Boyfriends! Their new video for “Colour Shining Bright” has the perfect blend of fantastical nostalgia and mythical hereafter that has me dancing while I think about how we seem to be fighting the same fights over and over again. In my lifetime, I’ve watched the ego towers climb ever higher and higher until they’ve taken over the skyline, and I’m waiting for the moment when they all collapse into rubble and we have to start again — if we’re allowed to start again. And “Colour Shining Bright” is like a gorgeous, addictive warning to all of us to shut the fuck up and live and let live. It’s off their record 2021 Fallacy of Fairness that originally came out via FDH Records, and now it’s seeing a repress on Dirt Cult Records — you can get that here or stream it here. Right now, hit play on this captivating video…
