On May 29th, I got a chance to see one of my favorite singers, Chelsea Wolfe, perform at an outstanding venue called The Imperial, here in Vancouver’s Downtown East Side. The room was packed with all sorts of weirdos, from Metalheads, Punks, Hippy Goths to everything in-between. From the moment she and her band took the stage, they had the place under their spell. To see the way that they enter into their own world left me in amazement. I love listening to her music at home, but live, Chelsea’s music becomes a force that moves through your bones. When I heard them go into “Moses,” I pretty much lost my shit, but most of the other songs they played that night had the same effect on me. I know I’m not alone in saying that Chelsea Wolfe tore the house down at The Imperial, and everyone who attended left happy.
