What does safe mean to a brain formed by strife, pain, and fear? When our minds never evolved beyond fleeing danger, are we really ever going to be content with the safest path? Watching the video for Polish Punks BLISS‘s new single “Agonia,” I see a man who buried his dreams instead of chasing them. Finding himself in a place where he’s facing his shadow self, the murderer of who he could have been. That’s a place that I’ve been told is where we should all end up, an end where we mourn ourselves, except for the lucky few who are happy in their debt and inferiority complex. It’s a sad story set to the band’s furiously addictive hardcore punk, and their thundering, scathing sounds are lighting a bonfire where I’ll burn the hopes and dreams and expectations that didn’t come from my own soul. With hints of black metal and heaps of punk, BLISS is definitely sending me to a place of sonic ecstasy! “Agonia” is off their upcoming record, due out sometime this year, and I, for one, am excited to hear what they’ve got in store for us all! Right now, hit play on “Agonia” and stay tuned for more…
This band is an outlet to express our creativity, love for the music and to serve our community wherever we can. All of that strongly rooted in the DIY mindset. Our true north is to explore and experiment with any sound or a riff that comes to our mind. If it makes sense, and we feel it, it’s here to stay. We aim to stay away from limiting ourselves to any particular genre. If there’s one thing we love about the Bliss is that one night we play at screamo fest, weeks later dive into a mosh pit with The Flex and head right after for Anarcho Crust Punx Picnic. To feel at home wherever we go is pure gold.
