Human beings overthink what it means to be alive, and as a result, we have a complicated relationship with single people. We simultaneously tell ourselves we’re here for some great purpose while shaming people who don’t fulfill the biological imperative to reproduce. I feel like this new single from LEOPARDO, “I Can’t Help Falling in Love with Nobody,” is an ode to all those who buck the tradition, but it’s also an indictment of our attitude that nothing is ever good enough because we can’t come to grips with the fact that we’re just another animal. All of this deep thought is inspired in me by the strange, seductive, krautrock sounds pouring into my eardrums and swirling around my synapses.
