Listening to this new album from KOLLAPS entitled Until The Day I Die makes me feel like I’ve stepped into a dystopian future. One where we’ve finally destroyed every bit of life and replaced it with our fucked-up, broken, mechanical replacement. The fires that have heated our planet causing my neighbors to install polluting AC in their homes in order to keep their temperature down while raising our planet’s temperatures even more have finally burned all that’s green and lush from Earth and left us with nothing but sand and rust and death.
KOLLAPS’ music is scorching, scary, metallic, relentless, furious, warped, panic-inducing, and terroristic. Their startling sounds are made using unorthodox metal materials, including metal grates, a rusted hoist, cement cylinders, field recordings, hammering of various decrepit objects, broken amplifiers, an exposed reverb tank, various synthesizers, and the infamous metal coil (you can see it in the pic below).
