When speaking of his latest release, DODSSANG TEMPEL has been referred to as “dark unholy necro noise doom,” and I couldn’t agree with this description more. I’m listening to his new record Old Witchcraft, and I feel like I’ve wandered into a catacomb, surrounded by cobwebbed crypts, and the air is electric with spirit voices. The stench of decay and old death is pouring into my eardrums and overwhelming my senses, subliminally asking me to close my eyes and join my ancestors in their dusty graves. This record hisses, pummels, scrapes, devastates, and writhes for almost 40 minutes of death industrial onslaught. It’s grim, and it’s not for those who are looking for upliftment, it’s only for those feeling strong enough to withstand pure malice. I’m not sure what ancient forces DODSSANG TEMPEL had to conjure to create these sonic spells, but it sounds like Old Witchcraft.
Old Witchcraft is out now, and you can get it on physical format from Ravsax Records here and digital format from Black Goat Records here. Check out a full stream here:
