What do I do when I’m sick of the world? I listen to music that makes me want to dance on the graves of our oppressors! With their fuzzed-out, lo-fi punk Candy Apple brings me to the brink of ecstatic madness and puts the weapons of my mind into my hands. They channel the kind of bottled-up rage that reminds me why I question everything. It reminds me why our system is predicated on a myth about how knowledge is dangerous, and ignorance is bliss. What we don’t know can be used on us without our consent. What we don’t know can build walls around gilded gardens and leave the rest of us to starve. What we don’t know gives our oppressors the power to manipulate and murder our minds. So I’m going to stay defiant by feeding my brain a consistent diet of Candy Apple! Their new album Sweet Dreams of Violence comes out via Convulse Records on April 30th and can be pre-ordered here. Today I’m inviting you into their subconscious insurgent musings as we enter the nightmares of Sweet Dreams of Violence in full right here and now!
