Experience the Dark Gothic Electronica World of KONTRAVOID “For What It Is” Video Premiere

David Rauch-Bautista

New York is a place where I used to feel like I needed to put my armour on every time I left my apartment. Mask up so no one saw my fear or weakness. Suit up so I didn’t look like a person who should be fucked with. Watching this new video for KONTRAVOID‘s first single off their upcoming record Detachment, “For What It Is,” reminds me of how I would have to protect my energy in the city that never sleeps. Kontravoid is painting my memories in dark gothic electronica, filling the landscape of my mind with pulsing beats, caustic static, and thrumming melodies. Detachment comes out March 1st via Artoffact Records — pre-order it here. Today we’re premiering the video for “For What It Is” — so hit play on it below!

Meghan MacRae grew up in Vancouver, Canada, but spent many years living in the remote woods. Living in the shadow of grizzly bears, cougars and the other predators of the wilderness taught her about the dark side of nature, and taught her to accept her place in nature's order as their prey. She is co-founder of CVLT Nation.
