There’s never been a bleaker, better time to immerse myself in the gritty industrial, brooding techno, and dark electronics of JEROME. With vocals that remind me of a warped church service chant and beats that have embedded themselves in the waters of my body, rippling through my flesh, these new songs from Jerome are a meditative experience in a world full of chaos and noise. I’m listening to their Moving EP that’s out today via Maple Death Records — get it here. It’s all of the genres I mentioned above, but it also brings in elements of trip hop, dance music, and drone that make the whole record a brilliantly unexpected experience. Each song either speeds my heart up or slows it down, and either way, they leave me feeling reassured in both my anxiety and my sanity.
