Day 2 of the inaugural Northwest Terror Fest was a blur of grindcore, powerviolence and crust galore. New Orleans grind punks Recluse ignited the adrenaline rush that only began to fade a few blocks away from Neumo’s at the Highline where Usnea played their red light flooded doom showcase. Where the first night was laid back, this one was a strategically planned quest to be at the front for each band. (The frenzied descent to Barboza was perhaps most worthwhile for Cult Leader’s packed show.) Transient and Fucked and Bound brutally disrupted the male-dominated frontperson trend. Goatwhore interrupted the PNW string of bands on the Neumo’s stage and obliterated with tracks from their new record. Cephalic Carnage started chanting “Weed! Weed! Weed!” Hearing the sounds of late night Seattle was impossible after the second day of Terror and a third day of madness still loomed…
