Every few months, I get highly obsessed with true crime shows and I binge-watch them for days until I feel like I’m doing mental and emotional damage to myself and then I cut myself off. I like the classier ones you can find on Netflix, sure, but the shows I’m talking about are the classic ones like Cold Case Files and Forensic Files. It’s been a while since my last binge, and it feels dangerous for me to be watching this new video from Ghent, Belgium’s post-noise-punk band CROWD OF CHAIRS. It’s like one of those shows created the dopest dramatizations for a story about a man murdering his warehouse co-worker; everything from the camera pans to the angles to the eerily 3D effect. And it’s all set to the addictive sounds of Crowd of Chairs; strident and ethereal post-punk with an almost psychedelic vibe. The track is called “Hollow Thoughts Of Wrong” – which legit sounds like a true crime episode title – and it’s off their forthcoming record Mod Kid With Dog that comes out February 21 via Sentimental Records – pre-order here. Today I’m excited to share the video with you below, I hope it sticks in your mind the way it’s glued itself to mine. If you’re in Belgium, check out the tour dates we have posted below – they’re playing at We Are open Belgian Showcase festival this Friday!
