Of all the doom and drone I’ve covered over the past 12 years, few bands I’ve encountered are as consistently outstanding as Clouds Taste Satanic. Somehow, with every release, this instrumental doom band climbs even higher into the upper echelons of the genre. Their new record, Tales of Demonic Possession, feels like I’ve climbed the treacherous path through sinister sonic realms populated with Hades’ doomed creatures and arrived at the story of my own soul’s demise. It’s cinematic as hell, and it doesn’t need vocals because the riffs do the talking. Over 4 epic tracks, this album is one banger after another, and it begs to be experienced in one sitting. And if you get one of the gorgeous color vinyl releases they’re putting out, then you know that’s how it’s done. Tales of Demonic Possession is out via Majestic Mountain Records on February 3rd — pre-order it here. Right now, get an advanced experience of Clouds Taste Satanic’s new opus below…
