In 1992 in Tokyo, a group of musicians got together to create some of the most intense, heavy, psychedelic, droning, fuzz-laden music that the world has ever heard, and their name is BORIS. 32 years and 26 albums later, Boris is still touring the world and blowing minds all over the globe! This year we are lucky to have them headline the CVLT Nation and Waterloo Records Halloween showcase at Levitation 2024 (get tickets here) as one of the closing dates of their Amplifier Worship Service tour (dates at the bottom). Today, as they announce their Amplifier Worship 25th Anniversary Edition LP via Third Man Records, we want to celebrate this deeply influential band with a video essay spanning the past three decades! So get ready to drown yourself in drone, plunge into psychedelia, descend into doom, and sink into sludge…
That we tour so much and release so many albums, I think it is representative of what we’re about. Direct communication is something we’ve lost in this day and age. It’s a shame – [even] interviews are over [the] phone. I think it’s important to see people face to face – that’s why it’s so important to go on tour. It’s something very basic to humans that we’ve lost lately.
