Some days I miss the hazy skies and suffocating heat of Los Angeles. But mostly I miss the thriving art community. One such artist was right under our noses when we lived in Santa Monica, Jose Araujo. Araujo tattoos at Midtown in L.A., but also does residences in SF, and I know there’s a lot of you who are going to be hitting him up once you’ve taken a look at the work he does. His artwork is in the Chicano vein of Teen Angel, and his tattoo style is one I haven’t seen a lot of. He uses a single needle to produce fine, delicate lines, making even his reapers and smoking guns turn into ethereal creatures. His work is very distinctive, and I’m stoked that in the near future I’ll be adding some of it to my own canvas. He’s also got a web shop where you can buy his zine and tees and hats featuring his artwork. Check out Jose Araujo’s skills below!
