As someone who came of age to be tattooed in the late 1990s, I was eligible for — and even susceptible to — the tramp stamp trend. I consider myself lucky I made it out of that era with only a Celtic knot. Now for some unholy reason, tramp stamps are coming “back in.” Along with pulling your thong out of your pants — that was never a cute look. While I’m enjoying going to shows and seeing kids born in the 21st century cosplay like 1990s teenagers, some trends need to be left in the 1900s. What young people today need to understand that they’re not immune to doing things they will later regert. And trust me when I say everyone who gets a tramp stamp later regrets it. And if they don’t, I regret it on their behalf. If you’re reading this and you’ve been contemplating adding a tramp stamp to your life, it’s okay — don’t tell anyone, and just look through this gallery of unfortunate tattoos. To be fair, I deliberately picked really bad tattoos, but I stand by the fact that there is no good tattoo that you can get in this area. Just because a tattooist is willing to do it, doesn’t mean it should be done.
