CANDY APPLE is the kind of band that looks sweet but their sound is full of razor blades! Today I wanna share this Candy Apple full set from August 11th, 2023, at Dracula in Holyoke, MA, filmed by Montana Media. This Denver band weaves psychedelic noise into their thumping hardcore punk and I can’t get enough of it! Their new record Comatose came out on Convulse Records on May 17th, and you can get it here. To me, hardcore feels self-sustaining. New generations come in and build on what came before and you have this ongoing duality of new bands referencing old traditions or adding something new. There’s something really special about that mix of perspectives.
