I remember when I first heard FEARING — I was immediately obsessed with their tape A Life Of None. That was the beginning of CVLT Nation’s love of their morbid and melancholy post punk, and they’ve changed and evolved their sound throughout the years while maintaining the gloom that drew me in years ago. Their new record Destroyer came out late September via Profound Lore — get it here and stream it here — and it’s got me tangled in their web again. The ghostly vocals, the sorrowful riffs, the unrelenting, sharp percussion. There are songs on here that take me somewhere new with Fearing, but then there are tracks that take me right back to that first tape.
