CHIEF GHOUL’s about section on his Facebook page says “Johnny Cash and The Misfits spawned a thing called Chief Ghoul” – and if ever there was a more CVLT Nation description, I haven’t read it (outside of Sean’s posts). The minute I hit play on his video for “Take My Hand” I knew this was something special – a more classic country/folk version of King Dude, he has a beautiful, melancholy voice that sends chills down my spine as he sings about Death, the bitter end I’ve come to know intimately over the past few years. “Oh Death, where is your victory?” His music has come into my life at the perfect time; as I’m looking Death in the face again, watching it take another leader in my life. Last week, Chief Ghoul released the video for “Take My Hand,” and I’m so happy to be sharing it with you today. His album 1892 will be coming out on July 17th, so stay tuned to hear our full stream of it in the next couple of weeks…
I said take my hand
You took my heart
With a fiery grip
Now it burns like a torch in the dark
You light my way
And I knew from the start
But I needed that time alone
That time to break apart
Oh death, where is your sting?
Oh death, where is your victory?
On down the road
As the seasons change
All blood will run cold
And everything stays the same
So why do we speak
When the fact remains
With everything that we know
We don’t know a thing
Oh death, where is your sting?
Oh death, where is your victory?
