On my list of TOP FIVE Skaters of all time Mark Gonzales ranks pretty high up! The first time I saw him do a hand plant in 1983, I was blown away. Then the next day, I saw him again at Black Flag when they performed at the Federal Building in Westwood , and I wanted to see him do a hand plant more than I wanted to hear “Damaged.” I have been lucky enough to see the GONZ do his thing from coast to coast. If I had to compare his style of skating to a band it would be FLIPPER because of his abstract way of seeing the world. Check out the most episode of Thrashers Classic that focuses on the one and only motherfucking weirdo Mark Gonzales.
