LICE S/T
WTF I hate lice they make me itch but I can’t get enough of this Hardcore band called LICE. Every song on their 2023 S/T tape is a sonic gremlin that won’t stop eating away at my eardrums and I love it! Their vocalist Shaye is next level gnarly and barks out their lyrics with the bite of 1000 rabid German Shepards. Musically, LICE is one of the hardest Hardcore bands doing it right now, and they open the gates of Hades with every second of their tape! I suggest all of y’all blast their songs “No Compromise” and “Flee” to open your 3rd eye to blistering Hardcore that delivers NONSTOP! I want to say sorry to LICE for being late to the game, because y’all should have been on our 2023 Hardcore end-of-the-year list. If LICE ever plays Vancouver BC, our whole family is going to roll to check them OUT!
INFLUX Work to Rule
I must say the INFLUX’s Work to Rule is super good for my mental health and I’m addicted to this whole tape!!! This band RULES so so hard, I love they weave their strong beliefs into their lyrics. They don’t write songs, they write Hardcore Anthems that will have you dancing and thinking at the same time. Their song “The Epoch” has lyrics that strike a nerve with me:
I’ve got the weight of everything on my shoulders No power left upon this earth can break these chains Lost in the stream of time; I’m just getting older I’ll always lose if I don’t let myself begin

INFLUX proves why for the last 40 years, Hardcore has always been one of my favorite genres. This band has created a tape that I want in my collection! Fuck the dumb shit, they are willing to use this art form as a weapon of creative change for direct action. Their song “Shadow Tag” is another rager that makes me want to dance in the pit with our 10-year-old daughter! Yo INFLUX, has riffs for daze and breakdowns that will make zombies two-step in their graves! Shout out to Michelle for playing in both LICE & INFLUX! Respect DUE!
COVERT Siege
COVERT hailing from Missouri has something to say and I’m all ears! Hot damn, their debut release Siege is out now on 23 DISTRIBUTION is next level AWESOME! Imagine Crucifix, Nausea, and the most rad Hardcore on the planet got together to form a band the outcome just might sound like Siege. What I love about this record is that yes, it’s sonically dangerous AF, but this their also this portal of empathy that exists in their songs that allows them to go deep inside my soul. CONVERT is taking the genre of Hardcore to new places and I can’t from I’m digging it! As I blast their song “Alone” I don’t feel alone, but I feel like community of Hardcore has my back! Mark my words, COVERT is going to be one of those bands to watch because they are that SICK!
