It’s time for the summer music to hit my turntable and project out my front windows into my own personal front yard paradise, and I know one album that’s going to be in my sunny day rotation – the tripped out new offering from The Myrrors called Hasta La Victoria. As soon as I hit play on this, I wanted to immediately stop what I was doing (writing this article) and head out into the sunshine – beer coozie in hand – and fucking enjoy life. Alas, I have to finish writing this before I do that (I also need the wax) – but I think the music speaks for itself. Hasta La Victoria comes out June 30th via Beyond Beyond is Beyond, and you can pre-order the album right here. Right now I suggest you head into the sun and let the rays blind you as you listen to the masterpiece The Myrrors have created…
Hasta La Victoria as an album was recorded quickly and with very little guidance. In that way it is perhaps a subliminal reflection of both the band’s continued evolution or mutation, as well as recent world developments, especially here in the United States of America where it was born. Soundtracking the world on a wire. Acoustic music played on electricity. No real guitars this time around – aside from a brief glimpse in which one is deconstructed, abused, and then buried deep in the mix – but we get enough of those in our daily lives anyways. Might be time to detox. We rarely know where the road is going, we just try and use our guts at the crossroads.
