My summer is over today, and CREUX LIES is making me wish I had a field to dance the pain away in as the autumn air starts to sift through Vancouver with its clammy fingers. I’m watching the video for their single “Becoming” and their uplifting darkwave-tinged post-punk is helping me to welcome the dark days ahead. It’s off their new record Goodbye Divine that comes out via Freakwave Records on October 8th — pre-order it here. The song speaks of going through your inner darkness in order to climb into the light, something I hope many of us have been forced to do in a world that’s kept us isolated and introspective over the course of the past year and a half. Now that we may see light starting to peek through the shadows, we can step into it with a better understanding of who we are and why we’re alive. Today we’re excited to share the official video premiere for their single “Becoming,” as well as upcoming tour dates in September.
“Becoming” is a track about the journey through the chasm of personal hell and the transformative ability of the heart to lend ladders to the divine.
