Death Rock

See the dystopic visions of VOID STARE “OEDO [Descent to the Evil below]”

When the synths come in on Void Stare‘s new vide for “OEDO [Descent to the Evil below]” the shivers start traveling down my spine. This synthwave/darkwave project is the solo effort of, VS, the vocalist of black metal band Spire. It combines throat singing with pulsating rhythms and nerve-tingling melodies and it’s fucking rad, and the video is pure anime eye-candy. This is what our future sounds like – I imagine AmazonBots™ zipping through acres of warehouse to ensure your daily supply of WholeFood™ arrives to your feeding slot as your corpulent figure sits immobilized in a coma-like stupor surrounded by screens. Their album Zero One is out on digital right here, and comes out on cassette via Brilliant Emperor Records on April 1, 2020 – pre-order it here. Right now enjoy this sick video for “OEDO [Descent to the Evil below].”
