I like so many different genres of music it’s ridiculous. And that’s why I have a deep appreciation for genre-destroying sounds like TRIAL‘s “COLONY OF TRIAL.” It’s a track off their 1 EP – order it here – and today I’m stoked to be sharing the new video for it with you! TRIAL has a sound that you could call equal parts thrash and post-punk, with a good amount of industrial sensibility thrown in. They envision the destruction that’s already happening around us, if not to us, and make music that inspires us to take action against it. Right now, feast your starving and confused eyes on their new video for “COLONY OF TRIAL” made by Lagomorphosis, and find your inner nourishment and shelter.
From a distance our view had now clarified: our assailants a limited force, their equipment dying, soon to be relics, their supplies evaporating. The rhetoric they had used against us for so many years now seemed inverted and now applicable to only them: a spent force, their resources and tools now inept, prone to failure and redundancy. We saw their cohorts scoping the landscape for a better deal, soon to depart for good and vanish.
Upon this awareness we offered thanks, forging forward and having sealed up their means of future escape: our colony.
COLONY OF TRIAL Lyrics:
Buckled under time
Cornered cursed on all sides
Allies desert us
Supplies laced with fear
An infinite source
Their lies alive all time
The trial is mine the mind on trial
The mind set fire their eyes in line
They fix on you
The trial is mine their lies their law constituent
Stars align for vultures lined in servitude
The block is home
Heralding all truth
Infecting all I do
Dead gods array
Laughing and barking in line
Inject their way
Into souls and time
Taking their place
In seats reserved by their friends
They all join hands
Weak ranks affiliate
The trial is mine the mind on trial no precedent
The mind set fire red eyes in line constituent
The trial is mine their lies their law omniscient
Their minds in line their sightless eyes they fix on you
Stars align for vultures lined in servitude.
