SMUTHER is a band that has something to say and I love their point of view! They’re soon to be released EP The Wretched of The Earth was named after the spot-on book written by Frantz Fanton. I read this outstanding piece of literature 34 years ago while attending UC Berkeley. Now today I’m turning y’all on to one of my favorite new Hardcore Punk bands from Vancouver, BC. All of their tunes are boombastic declarations aimed at those who want to downpress us on any level, and for that, I’m a fan. Smuther also creates the kind of knuckle-bleeding hardcore punk that makes you want to kick cops in their necks! All you have to do is look at their song titles to see that this band stands for something and is willing to use their songs as sonic weapons of direct action. Today I’m beyond stoked to share with y’all the new SMUTHER The Wretched of The Earth record in full below — make sure to pick up their tape from DEMOLITION RECORDS when it drops!
