The mighty Neon Taste Records, whose impressive track record of white-hot hardcore releases from bands including BOOTLICKER, TRAUMATIZER, and INFERNO PERSONALE, continues on that trajectory with SISTEMA OBSOLETO and their debut EP Esmagado Pela Engrenagem Capitalista.
The Macedonian-based band plays bone-crunching käng inspired by MOB 47, TOTALITÄR, and SHITLICKERS. With lyrics yelled in Portuguese and inspired by Anarcho and Peace-Punk greats, SISTEMA OBSOLETO takes aim at the ongoing genocide, technocracy, and capitalism amongst other things throughout Esmagado Pela Engrenagem Capitalista.
In their words:
SISTEMA OBSOLETO means “Obsolete System” and stands for the idea that this broken system that was meant to enslave us all along has no other option than to change into something else, that values people more than money, cooperation more than competition, community more than profit.
Another world is possible and we should strive for it, and that can be done firstly in ourselves and then it will reflect in the world.
The CRASS meets TOTALITÄR logo by @robrche symbolizes the two parts of punk we wanted to embody: the ultra fast hardcore aggression of käng legends TOTALITÄR with the very political anarcho-punk vision of CRASS.
Punk should always have a political message that strives for liberation, otherwise if you are in it just for the fun, call it rock ’n’ roll.
Most importantly right now is:
FREE PALESTINE and FUCK ISRAEL FOREVER!
