You can’t heal the darkness you’re unwilling to look at. That’s why you need to choose to see the horrors of humanity, the sickness of society, the corruption of civilization. Hiding behind the skirts of privilege is what’s gotten us here, and until we step out and look these evils in their beady blue eyes, we won’t be able to get past them. That’s why I run a website that puts a spotlight on darkness every day. That’s why I revel in songs like Greylock‘s “Do Not Revive.” Their scathing, sorrowful sludge brings with it the message that every step we take is toward our doom, and that all of us are accountable for our destruction.
