If I fell out of my reality and stepped into the motherboard that keeps the matrix running, I feel like the soundtrack for that would be this new record from ROUTINE. It’s ominous and electrical, cracking through the cold surfaces all around me. These songs are both familiar and new, making the experience of immersing myself into Faded Moments feel deliciously surreal. By weaving techno with darkwave, post punk with industrial, ROUTINE has created a record that’s anything but a routine listen. Instead, each song takes me somewhere in between past, present, and future, the place where all of that and none of it exists. If I had to pick a favorite, I’m gonna say “Bridges” because it hooks me in with the steady beat and post punk melodies. But I’m also adoring the guitar tones on “Winter,” and the synths on the closer, “Red.” Faded Moments is out now via Artoffact Records โ get it here, and listen to it below.
‘Faded Moments’ is a tribute to lost songsโechoes of the past that once existed but were erased over time. This album reimagines those forgotten melodies, bringing them back from the void with new life and a sense of nostalgia. Itโs a journey through the fragments of music that were once there but no longer remain, capturing the beauty of what was and the bittersweet feeling of rediscovery.
