Sink into the Deepest Night on Obscurae “Upon The Shadowthrone Of Night”

The human fear of night is so interesting to me. Why does the night both terrify us and excite us? Why do we light it up so much so that we disrupt the migratory patterns of birds, but claim to thrive off its darkness? I think we see that just as our world cycles through light and dark, so do we, and it’s the shadows on our soul that terrify us and reflect back at us at night. The opening passages of Obscurae‘s atmospheric black metal masterpiece “Upon The Shadowthrone Of Night” already have me sinking deeply into the shadows inside me. It’s off their upcoming LP To Walk The Path Of Sorrows that comes out November 27th – pre-order it here. It’s the perfect sonic vessel for the wisdom of the night – night is just the world without sunlight, it’s the shadows in us that want to emerge once there’s no light there to hide them. And it’s our shadows that are now hiding the sun behind layers of destruction and pollution. Obscurae sit atop that Shadowthrone and wait for us to come to them as supplicants. Right now, lay your offering at the foot of their throne and listen to our exclusive stream of “Upon The Shadowthrone Of Night”…

Dedicated to the majesty of the Night. No religions, no superstitions. Just magick for the eternal Dark.
