Sometime in my childhood, I discovered MAD MAGAZINE. When I tell you this pulp satire magazine, part comic book part smut, changed my young life, I am not exaggerating. My parents rarely agreed to buy them for me, so I had to read my cousin’s copies, and I spent hours doing so. I was in awe of illustrations, the jokes, the way the magazine made fun of the most prominent celebrities of the time โ all of that inspired me and let me know my own little dark sense of humour would some day be appreciated.
