I’m sitting here listening to LUNG and all I can think about is the raw, glistening heaving inside all of us that keeps our bodies functioning. The delicate system that refuses to stop until it’s our time to die. And those weird, morbid thoughts are the perfect mental visuals to accompany the seething sounds that this band is offering up on their new single, “The Mattress.” It’s off their record The Swankeeper that’s out May 30th via Feel It Records โ get it here. Cello and drums in perfect, grungy, unexpected harmony. “The Mattress” feels like it’s imploring me to look at all the places where I hide and stash things that I’m not ready to get rid of, but that have no use to me. I know if I do, I’ll be making the choice to live a better life, but I don’t want that junk exposed to the world. Guess I’ll just hit play on “The Mattress” again for moral support and wish I watch catching them on one of their May tour dates โ check those below!
